Right Wing Blogosphere: Paris Hilton is back in jail! Meanwhile, US aligns itself with Sunni militia, Saddam loyalists.

Right-wing blogs have been abuzz over the news about Paris Hilton. I bet next week they'll offer us wall-to-wall Lindsey Lohan coverage. Whoopee! I find it revealing though that none of them have directly addressed the war in Iraq for more than a week (some of them much longer). I guess Paris Hilton is more important to at least some of them. Yes, Weiner Dog and Smokey, I'm talking to you.

Meanwhile, look who our new allies are in Iraq! Saddam loyalists, who I thought we just spent a 1/2 trillion dollars fighting, and also Sunni Militias, who we're also arming, by the way. (Full article available here):

The American soldiers in Amiriyah have allied themselves with dozens of Sunni militiamen who call themselves the Baghdad Patriots -- a group that American soldiers believe includes insurgents who have attacked them in the past -- in an attempt to drive out al-Qaeda in Iraq. The Americans have granted these gunmen the power of arrest, allowed the Iraqi army to supply them with ammunition, and fought alongside them in chaotic street battles.

Says a US intelligence officer:

"We have made a deal with the devil," said an intelligence officer in the battalion.

In one particular battle between the militias and al Qaeda it was reported:

To the Americans, the fighters on both sides appeared nearly identical. They wore similar sweat suits and carried the same kind of machine guns. "Now we've got kind of a mess on our hands," Salge remembered thinking. "Because we've got a lot of armed guys running all over the place, and it's making it very hard for us to identify which side is which."

Mission accomplished! Boy, this is going to turn out great, I just know it!

Bush is really the best Commander-in-Chief in the history of the universe. I can't wait 'till Fred Thompson, the man who can speak English well and who played the roles of leaders on teevee, gets into office and then he can finish the terrorists off. Once we figure out a way to tell apart the terrorists and the militias, that is. Maybe Thompson will take Weiner Dog's advice and "kill all of their leaders and cripple their religion". Whatever that means. Weiner Dog's plans are no different from those devised by a 5 year old, or by Smokey for that matter. I can seldom determine what they're actually advocating or if it is in anyway realistic. If anyone else has brilliant ideas for winning the war, please leave them in the comments.

Final note, right-wing nutjobs really should use their blogs to get out all of the good Iraq news they're always talking about! Failure to do so could result in Chickenhawks sounding like they're losing their will to fight the war from the comfort of their basement.

Well well...the reason some of us posted about Ms. Paris is simple: She is the product of liberal upbringing. Her parents are super dooper rich and spoiled- and they never held the little princess ACCOUNTABLE for anything...she grew up a spoiled rotten little brat and now she is 26 yrs old and thinks she is entitled to a different set of standards. Her only claim to fame is a few moments in a shabby homemade porn flick. She has no talent or skill, she's an airhead- but hey- sex sells and so does the trampy lifestyle she leads. Liberals love her and come to her defense.

Raven,

Let's see: spoiled rotten little brat entitled to a separate set of standards. No real talent or skills and an airhead. You are also describing President Bush.

And those of you who support repeal of the estate tax, support Paris Hilton's ability to inherit wealth for doing absolutely nothing whatsoever. That's called an aristocracy and it's not very American.

Kender,

If Plame was not a covert agent can anyone, incliuding Big Dog, answer the following questions:

- Why did the CIA ask Justice to open an investigation?
- Why did the Bush Administration do so?
- Why did Ashcroft recuse himself?
- Why did Bush say he'd fire whoever was responsible (and then haul off and do nothing, as usual).

The fact of the matter is, Scooter libby, in addition to being found guilty of purjury, was also found guilty of OBSTRUCTING JUSTICE .

Since we are a nation of laws, as the Commander in Chief likes to say, and since Libby was found guilty of criminal acts related to the outing of an undercover CIA officer by a jury of his peers, he belongs in prison. If anything he was underprosecuted.

Weiner Dog somehow thinks this is an insignificant crime. What about Plame's contacts from the counter proliferation (!) department. Wouldn't you or BD agree that exposing her and disrupting her until-the-covert network jeopardizes national security in the most real sense?

that's why BD - and probably all of you - support a traitor.

One other thing...

Are none of you cowards going to actually address the point of my post? That we're back to supporting Saddam Loyalists, Sunni insurgents and other non-Iraqi-government groups after spending 1/2 trillion dollars and 3500 US lives to defeat them or have you guys not realized that that was happening?

I'd be very interested in hearing your opinions on it. Please attempt to make sense.

Ok yep we are accepting idiots from both sides of the civil war in order to try to stem the violence.. BFD.

The alternatives that you idiots keep posting will come to fruition, we will be leaving Iraq soon enough.

I just wonder if you and folks like you will be so eager to accept the blame for the millions of deaths that occur AFTER we are gone? ooops I forgot that is not a liberal trait. You will continue to blame big bad right wing folks.....

Personally I'd like to meet you face to face sometime and discuss our differences.....But I understand it's also a liberal trait to AVOID reality.

Uh huh...BillyGayBot,
YOU're the one who brought up Ms. Hilton not me. So deal with my comment. So, according to you Paris Hilton should give away a huge portion of her taxes to the poor, then perhaps she wouldn't so rich eh? OK whatever.

As for the post, so what? Thanks to you liberals this war is gonna be lost. SO we have to resort to these tactics. Bringing in fighting elements in an attempt to keep some level of peace in Iraq.
It won't work, I do know that. And the war will come to our steets soon enough. I'll come back to haunt you then. And ask you some questions.

So everyone thinks it's A-OK that we're now in cahoots with Saddam loyalists and Sunni militia even though we literally just spent 1/2 trillion dollars and thousands of US soldiers have been wounded and killed to topple the same people? Isn't this sort of a deadly flip-flop? How do you translate "flip-flop" into right-wing-ese?

So if Bush comes to us tomorrow and reveals that he's arming Osama bin Laden again so that he can topple the Iranian government, will you guys be as supportive as you are now?

It's rich how you guys blame the "liberals" for Bush's catastrophic failures in Iraq. He IS the Commander-in-Chief after all. This is his war and has been conducted entirely by his administration and Congress to this day has never turned down a funding request, in spite of the rampant waste and corruption in Iraq. The ongoing failure in Iraq can and should be placed squarely on Bush's shoulders.

and you guys who have decided you'd rather obsess over Paris Hilton instead of acknowledging the reality of Bush's failed adventure in Iraq are in denial. Where's all the good news you used to whine wasn't being broadcast by the liberal MSM?

And as the President said before the last election: What's your plan?

I'm probably being optimisitic in assuming you actually have one, but what would you do to "win" in Iraq? Surely someone in the right-wing blogosphere has some ideas. Especially those who support "fighting them over there so we don't have to fight them over here" types. What are your ideas? I've been trying to get solutions from right-wingers for a long time now but have so far come up largely blank. When I did get something, it was the product of a 5 year old's imagination. Anyone else have ideas on how to win the war you love so much?

Hey BJ thanks for the link. Although you might think you are exposing hypocrisy from us Right Wing bloggers, what you are really doing is improving our search engine rankings so that more people will be exposed to our ideas. I salute you my friend the exact opposite of what you hope to achieve is happening. You should stop by my blog Passionate America more often and link to what you consider my stupidity, I still need to get my Alexa ranking up higher. :)

Wild Bill! Thanks for posting. The Wall Street Journal really did a number on you last year.

it's not everyday that a stay-at-home dad who faked his own suicide to get out of the US Navy posts a comment. Thank you for blessing us with your presence, Patriot!

It would be hilarious if you became a prominent right wing voice. That would really show the libtards.

by the way, you really should use your platform to get out more - or at least some - of the good news coming from Iraq that we're never told about. In spite of your whining in the past, the liberal media is still not highlighting all of the good things happening.

It's been so quiet in the right-wing blogosphere. A reader might think that the Iraq War cheerleaders had decided to throw in the towel and focus instead on their favorite Hollyweird stars: Paris Hilton & Fred Thompson.

Please do come back and defintely leave a comment about the fact that the US is now arming Saddam loyalists and Sunni Militia in addition to the Iraqi military itself. I can't find the logic of spending $500 billion to overthrow Saddam and then turning around and funding his loyalists & other people who have been shooting at us for the past 4 years, but you have a right-wing brain, so maybe you could explain it.

No one else has had a sensible explanation yet, as you can see from the comments.
